It’s not uncommon to encounter locals that will share its history and help guide you on what to see and do. Nearly all of our visitors tell us that it is truly a hidden gem and one of the most unique and pleasant experiences they’ve had. So come on down and visit us! We’re easy to get to – just down the road from Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

WATERFRONT

Just steps from the Peaceful Pelican are miles of walking paths along the Palacios Bay. Take a leisurely morning or evening walk while you take in the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the water. Or enjoy an invigorating morning jog in the salty ocean breeze. There are several sandy enclaves along the walking paths. Step off and enjoy the relaxing sensation of putting your toes in the sand. And if you’re looking for a beach outing, Matagorda Beach is just down the road.
